Hackers claim to have access to the Twitter and Facebook accounts of at least 30 Nigerian celebrities, including TuFace, D’Banj, Don Jazzy, Banky W and WhizKid.
At about 9:29pm on Sunday, the Twitter account of popular Nigerian music star, Flavour Nabania was hacked with a message that reads:
“Hacked account. Celebs beware. You’re all a target!”
In a bid to expose the celebrities, the hackers also threathened to hack the Twitter accounts of @DONJAZZY, @2faceidibia, @BankyW and @wizkidayo, vowing to tweet from @2faceidibia‘s account tomorrow (Monday).The hackers also vowed to attack accounts of politicians, saying: “Imagine tweeting porn pictures from Politicians twitter account.”
While Twitter usually restores a hacked account to its rightful owners, the question is how long would it take to get it back? Even though it is recovered, imagine the embarrassment and the damage this could cause to a celebrity.
