Body Of The Mother Of Psquare Mrs. Josephine Okoye, 62, will be laid to rest at her husband’s house at Ifite-Dunu, Akwa Village, Anambra State on Thursday, 2 August, 2012.

Shortly before the burial, there will be a lying-in-state at her Umunachi, Umudioka Village, Anambra State and a church service at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, before the proper burial at Ifite-Dunu, which will also be the reception venue and is expected to be attended by colleagues of P-Square in the entertainment industry and some state governors amid tight security.

Late Mrs Okoye is survived by her husband, Mr. Moses Okoye and eight children namely Christopher, Henry, Jude, Lilian, Tony, Peter, Paul and Mary.

REVEALED: PSQUARE’S MUM DIED 5 HOURS AFTER HEART SURGERY IN INDIA

Josephine Okoye mother of Psuare passed away about five hours after undergoing heart surgery.

A statement from Psquare’s publicist says ‘Josephine Okoye, who had battled with prolonged illness, passed away in an Indian hospital in Kolkata, last night July 11, 2012 at 11PM.’

 Speaking at his residence, Peter Okoye said their late mother suffered from diabetes.

she had earlier been admitted to St. Nicholas hospital in Lagos, but was flown out of the country when her condition worsened.

The atmosphere at Squareville, the Omole Phase 1 home of the Okoye brothers – Peter, Paul and Jude, was somber, less than a day after the news broke.

Friends and colleagues of the award-winning singers have been visiting the house to commiserate with the family.

A condolence register has been opened, and some of those who paid early visits include their album marketer, T-Joe, producers Flip Tyce and Samklef and TV host Helen Paul-Bamisile.

While Peter Okoye opened up his doors to speak with NET, Paul was not seen anywhere in the vicinity.

‘You know that she was a prayer warrior, so I don’t need to tell you how she stood by us spiritually. Besides, she was the only one that believed in us when we decided to make a career out of music.

I can remember that she used to sneak us out at night then to attend shows without the consent of our father who insisted that we must quit music to face our education’, Peter recounts.

She is survived by her Jos based husband, her children Ifeanyi, Henry, Jude, Lilian, Tony, Peter, Paul and Mary, as well as her grand-children, including Cameron, Peter’s son.

First Lady, Patience Jonathan Appointed Permanent Secretary in Bayelsa State

Wife of the president and First lady of the Fredral republic of Nigeria was surprisingly appointed Perm Sec in the state civil service by the governor of Bayelsa State, Governor Seriake Dickson among 17 others..

Explaining their reason for the appointment, the senior special assistant to the governor on media affairs, Mr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson, said that the First Lady was a teacher in the state’s civil service and has been on leave of absence since 1999 to join her husband in his political service; first as a deputy governor, governor, vice president, then president. If not for the leave of absence, according to him, Mrs Jonathan would have risen to the status of a permanent secretary by now..

There was sorrow all over Umuakuru village in Emekuku, Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State Sunday July 8th following the mysterious death of nine members of a family whose bodies were discovered in their rooms early hours of the day. The family had buried their 98-year-old mother, Mrs Felicia Njoku on Saturday [July 7] in their country home. The deceased include Mr. Pascal Njoku, his wife Juliana and their five children, Ebere (first daughter), Ifunanya (second daughter), Chibueze (son) Jackline (third daughter) and Uchechi (last daughter).
